FAQs

  • Cosmetic injectables include a range of non-surgical injectable treatments, delivered by registered medical professionals. Injectables are aimed at refreshing and rejuvenating appearance, and supporting skin architecture to soften and prevent the effects of ageing processes. Treatment results in fuller and firmer, more radiant appearance.

As we age, we produce less collagen and elastin, and environmental exposure such as UV exposure causes damage to the structures in the extra cellular matrix of the skin’s deeper layer known as the dermis. This contributes to a dull, volume deficient appearance of the skin, as well as causing changes to pigment and skin texture. Additionally muscle, bone and facial fat pads undergo changes over time. This alters the facial shape, repositions tissue and enhances the formation of lines, transitions, hollows and shadows that form the common concerns associated with appearance as age.

Ageing is both fluid (ongoing) and multifactorial. Achieving great results with injectables involves a sound understanding of the causes of concerns, a range of treatment modalities and a treatment plan that reflects individual needs.

  • At Fé Clinic, we provide a range of injectable treatments which work together to maintain a graceful ageing process. Treatments can be preventative or replenishing, and address concerns such as wrinkles, loss of volume or crepey skin.

Anti-wrinkle injections address dynamic lines formed on the face when we animate. This happens from the active ingredient which causes relaxation of the treated muscles. The result is softening and healing of static lines (lines on the skin at rest) over time.

Common areas treated with anti-wrinkle include frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines. There are many other areas we can treat in the lower face, including jaw clenching and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Dermal filler is used to rebalance the profile and replace lost volume throughout the face. Different from anti-wrinkle injections, which use an active medicine to achieve results, dermal filler products are made of a water-holding molecule called hyaluronic acid (HA). This HA is formulated into a range of gel fillers. Placed with expert precision, dermal filler builds the foundation of facial shape and can be used throughout the face to improve flattening, dullness and hollowing, add beautification of specific features, as well as supporting fine lines.

Profhilo® is an injectable moisturiser, made of the same HA molecule as dermal filler, but with a key difference in the manufacturing process. This difference creates a smooth runny hydrating product which is used superficially (subdermal) as a skin treatment . The action is not volumisation, rather it acts as a skin fertiliser which supports cellular structures in the dermis and subcutis which lose their efficiency as we age. Profhilo® has both short term and long term preventative properties and is suitable for almost anyone. It can be used in the face, neck and décolletage, as well as be combined with any of our other treatments.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), uses the concentrated formula from your own blood containing powerful growth factors and healing properties to support collagen production, helping to strengthen the tissue and improve texture. This is used particularly around the eyes, for crepey skin in the neck, or using a needling device to infuse as an overall facial, neck or décolletage skin treatment.

Often we may recommend a combination of treatments based on your initial assessment, and formulate recommendations into an individualised and structured treatment plan.

  • You have come to the right place. Let us guide you with our no obligation initial consultation where we will conduct a thorough clinical assessment, provide education, and individualised treatment recommendations.

For some clients, concerns are very specific, such as a particular area like the frown line, or preventative anti-wrinkle treatments, whilst others have more global concerns such as wishing to appear less tired, addressing the lower face changes from ageing or wanting to appear refreshed overall. Concerns can also change over time and are re-evaluated at every visit.

  • All consultations and treatments are administered by medical professionals and by law are completely confidential. Your privacy is our highest priority.

  • Dermal filler and anti-wrinkle treatments are priced by product used, whilst Profhilo® and PRP have set treatment pricing. As every client presents with different concerns, and treatment is guided by assessment of individual anatomy, it is not possible to give accurate pricing without an initial consultation.

It is a good idea to consider how committed you are to achieving your aesthetic goals from an investment perspective. When it comes to anti-aging, there is no magic one-off treatment. In our experience the best, long lasting benefits of injectables are achieved through regular treatment with a regular injector you trust and feel comfortable with. We also advise that if you are choosing to invest in injectables, using active skin care will enhance your results through physiological skin conditioning. (True active skin care is only available through medical professionals).

It is important to understand there is no pressure or obligation to continue with the recommended treatments. We want to guide you with our professional opinion to feel informed and empowered to make an educated choice on what will be best for you.

It is understandable that clients want to gain an idea on what treatment will cost before deciding to proceed.

With anti-wrinkle treatment, the average repeat treatment is generally every 3 - 4 months. Depending on units used, price can range between $250 - $1000+.

If you are new to dermal filler, and your concern is volume loss, it is not uncommon to require 2 - 3 sessions using 2 - 3 mls per treatment for foundational treatments, at an approximate cost of $2,000 per treatment, in the first year. Following on from this we may recommend a review 6 - 12 monthly or as desired, and will usually require much less product to maintain the result.
